[Feature]: Runnable MCP client example with optional Parallel web search #42384
Would a runnable companion example for Appsmith's embedded MCP server fit here? It would pair Appsmith's authenticated tools with Parallel Search MCP for free web search and page fetching, with no Parallel account or API key. Search uses Fast mode.
I'd add an opt-in TypeScript client example under app/client/packages/mcp that searches for source material, fetches a selected page, and shows how those results can inform an Appsmith app. It would keep Appsmith authentication and the existing feature gates unchanged, declare its dependencies, and include tests plus a live check through the documented client path.
Why should this be worked on?
Agents building internal tools sometimes need public reference material alongside company data. A runnable example would give developers a concrete way to combine these tools without adding a search dependency to every Appsmith deployment.
I work at Parallel. Could a maintainer confirm whether this scope belongs in this package and assign the issue to georgeatparallel before I start?
